Rangers' back-up stopper will understudy Paddy Kenny in the Barclays Premier League after committing his future to the club until next summer.
The 37-year-old will put pressure on the former Sheffield United keeper as the Rs battle to stay in the top flight
Manager Neil Warnock told the official club website: "Radek is a great pro and a very good keeper. He deserves this new deal.
"Raddy and Paddy, along with goalkeeping coach David Rouse, are a great team and the fact we did so well defensively last season is credit to the three of them who work so well together."
Czech Cerny, who arrived at Loftus Road on a free transfer three years ago, has amassed 81 appearances.
He also made 16 Premier League appearances for Tottenham Hotspur after joining on extended loan from Slavia Prague.
He played three times in the 2004/05 campaign and 13 times in 2007/08 before making the move to Loftus Road.
