Baggies aim to keep duo

West Bromwich Albion say contract talks have begun with Peter Odemwingie and Youssouf Mulumbu.

Speculation has suggested that both players could leave this summer after attracting the attention of other clubs with their performances last season.Odemwingie is thought to be wanted by several leading European sides, while Mulumbu has been linked with FiorentinaHowever, technical director Dan Ashworth has dismissed the reports and reiterated that neither man is for sale.Ashworth said of the duo: "We have been in discussions with both of those players about extending contracts."We want to keep our best players, add to that and stabilise in the Premier League. Both of them are on contracts - Peter has two years left, Youssouf three years left, so we decide if anyone leaves."Both players have been extremely professional and we've got negotiations with their representatives that we hope will lead to mutual agreements where all parties are happy. But our fall-back position is that they are not for sale."
