Hoilett offered Rovers deal

Blackburn Rovers have put a formal contract offer to David Hoilett as they attempt to keep the youngster at the club.

The Canadian's current deal at Ewood Park expires next summer and a number of Barclays Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring his situation.Blackburn are keen to prevent him leaving and hope the 21-year-old will commit his long-term future to the club.Rovers manager Steve Kean has been working hard on thrashing out a deal, with discussions having been held with Hoilett's family. He is confident an agreement will be reached, with the package put to the promising forward considered to be very appealing.Keane said: "I had a great talk with his mum and dad in Toronto."He has since received an offer of a very good healthy contract and the signs are that it is progressing well."
