Riveros heading to Turkey

Sunderland have confirmed midfielder Cristian Riveros has joined Turkish club Kayserispor on a year-long loan deal.

Riveros, who arrived on Wearside on a free transfer from Mexican outfit Cruz Azul last summer when he signed a three-year contract, has made just 14 appearances for the club, only seven of them in the starting line-upManager Steve Bruce said: "Cristian wants to play regular football and hopefully he will be able to do so in Turkey. We wish him all the best."Bruce has enjoyed significant success in the past with recruits from central and South America, but has seen Riveros, compatriot Paulo da Silva and Argentinian defender Marcos Angeleri find the going tough on Wearside.Six new faces, including Ahmed Elmohamady, who spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light, have already arrived this summer, and the Black Cats are not finished yet.Riveros is one of a series of players the club will look to move on this summer, either permanently or on loan, as Bruce makes room for his summer signings. The Black Cats on Thursday revealed that the 31-year-old, who they describe as "a rising star in both legal circles and the football industry" will take over from Steve Walton.Meanwhile, the club have appointed legal director Margaret Byrne as the club's new chief executive following a restructuring of the board.Chairman Niall Quinn said: "Margaret has been a true driving force at the club since her appointment here more than four years ago and the fact that the club has gone from strength to strength on and off the pitch in that period is no coincidence."She has enormous passion for our football club and as its CEO, she will continue with the fantastic work that has gone before and will play a key role as the club continues to grow."In addition, Angela Lowes has joined the Board as finance director after 11 years in the club's finance department.
