The 28-year-old who helped the Blues to Carling Cup glory before being relegated from the Barclays Premier League last season, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract. The defender becomes Mick McCarthy's third signing of the summer after the arrivals of Jamie O'Hara and Dorus De Vries, and Wolves insist he has been a target for several years."We tried to sign Roger two years ago when he moved from Cardiff to Birmingham and have been tracking him ever since," chief executive officer Jez Moxey told the club's official website."We are pleased to have signed what we believe to be an excellent player who represents good value for money for us."He fits the bill perfectly - a British centre-back in his prime, one with Premier League and cup-winning experience, a vocal, determined, leader type who has played consistently well for a long time."We stressed that we would not rush to do deals this summer and would have to be patient in the pursuit of our targets, which has proved to be beneficial for us."Johnson hailed Wolves as a "club going places" and is delighted to be preparing for another season in the Barclays Premier League."I'm delighted and just really pleased the deal got done," he said."There were a lot of things which attracted me to Wolves. I'd like to think I know what the manager is about - he doesn't mess around and is straight down the line."That's what I'm about as well and I'm looking forward to working with him."I've been vocal on the pitch ever since I was at Wycombe and that's not going to change."I also know a few of the boys and can also stay in the area which is good for me and my family."And I think Wolves are a club which are hopefully going to go places and I'd like to be part of that."I think Wolves are a team who can do well and have a good run in the cup but speaking to the manager I think staying in the league has to be the first priority."But from there I don't think mid-table is out of the question."
