The former Manchester United trainee has signed a three-year contract at the City Ground where he is reunited with manager Steve McClaren, whom he played under at Middlesbrough.Greening, 32, moved to Fulham from West Bromwich Albion last summer after a successful season-long loan at the London club. However, his first-team appearances were restricted under former manager Mark Hughes and he started only six Barclays Premier League matches last season."I didn't play as often I would have liked last season," he said. "I was on the bench most of the season."As a footballer I want to be playing week in and week out and when Steve McClaren came in for me and I spoke to him on the phone it was a no brainer really."I've known Steve for quite a while now. He came to United while I was there and had two years as assistant manager."And then when he took over at Middlesbrough he took me a Mark Wilson there in a double deal. I played 109 games under him at Boro before moving onto West Brom."Greening becomes McClaren's second signing of the summer after Andy Reid returned to the club on a free transfer at the start of this month.
